guyincognito, bluecon: there are plenty of Mark VII ready suspension parts, but I have a $500 budget to work with. That’s for the car’s asking price and any work (outside of safety, brakes, and tires) needed for this pile.

Air springs ain’t happening unless I find an umm, well maintained Lincoln in the junkyard.

Couldn’t you just take some from one of the new Lincoln Navigators rotting on some dealers lot? I’m sure you’d have time to complete the race and then re-install them before anyone would notice.

Thats why you should trust 25 year old German engineering. The vacumn leaks in the old quattro system on the Audi 4000 were fixed with silicon window sealant, which only cost $3.50 at Target.

Team Ingolstadt shall reign supreme in Houston! We shall fear neither hooptie Trans Ams, nor craptastic Olds Cutlasses, nor well engineered, but only two-wheel driven BMW 3-series (as they trail parts behind them), nor “I will run for ever on my 90bhp” Honda Accords…..
