I hope this was tongue in cheek, because if not it is a remarkable display of self centered drama queen helplessness. Regarding the roll down the window bit, the car probably has power windows and a dead battery, plus she can't call OnStar to tell her how to open the doors.
And while I can't speak for any current teens, since my daughter is only 6,when she was in high school my younger sister, who I considered a bit of a princess would have handled this by rolling down the windows of the non a/c manual transmission car she drove and talking somebody into either a jump start or a push start.

That's interesting. A couple of days ago, I heard an interview with someone on NPR, can't remember who, and the two numbers that were mentioned--three actually--were that something like 70 percent of all Americans think they're smarter than the average American. And that 80 percent think they're more attractive than the average.

What does this mean? "That 90 percent of American are idiots," said the interviewee. I can't vouch for his math, but I think he's right...

And good lord, there really is an antiduckface.com!

“Get off my lawn” seems to be a mantra around here.

You beat me to the reference.

People make two basic assumptions about themselves: a) that they're smarter than average and b) that people have gotten measurably "worse" since whatever their birth year was, plus fifteen to twenty-five years, which is interesting, since it covers about three or four active generations.

By that logic, we're all complete degenerates versus those born 150 years ago.

What actually happens is that people tend to forget that a) there are always silly, thoughless or flat-out stupid people and b) nostalgia is always viewed through rose-coloured glasses.

What a GD whiny high maintenance waste of space. I made it to the 1 minute mark and had enough. If you're really hot inside the car, logic would tell me that I should probably get out of the car. But that's just me. She's probably got a couple pictures on antiduckface.com.

She'll probably just grow up to be a baby factory, and they will all turn out just like her. In fact, my own daughter could have replaced her in the video. Only my daughter would have just hollered "mommy" for 7 minutes. (I am NOT the enabler.) And actually would have asked mommy how to operate the door handle. I weep for the future. And what's this about generation X being "good"? How about "useless" and responsible for most of the problems in the country today? (Reagan era, anyone?)

I was unable to watch more than 2 minutes of this. I got bored. I'm inclined to agree with Pch101 about this. She's trying to be funny, and relieve her own boredom while she waits. I'd actually give her a few points for that (just a few though).

In my experience, a AAA affiliated driver/operator never takes less than an hour to arrive. And they always take longer when the weather is inclement. This is just how it is. At least they do arrive and you don't have to die alone and cold in the snow. But it's always later, not sooner.

This is just a young drama queen. She'll get over herself sooner or later. Hopefully before she is presented with a truly life-threatening scenario.

One day she may look back on this video with real embarrassment. And it'll be there forever, too. With YouTube and other online sites, there's no putting that toothpaste back into the tube!

I think generations are like Star Trek movies: they alternate between good and worthless. So you had the Greatest Generation (good), the baby boomers (worthless), Generation X (good), and now today's whatever-you-call-ems...

"Get off my lawn" seems to be a mantra around here.

The girl was trying to be funny. (Not saying that she was funny, but that she was trying.) While she won't be on the stage of her local comedy club any time soon, she was obviously trying to relieve her boredom and amuse herself. Give the kid a break already.

This is sad, and dwford nailed my sentiments, and while I'm here being concerned about the future of our country, I might as well rant a bit.

As a teen that knows about cars, I can say (even though it's been said) that there is a definite lack of knowledge about anything mechanical in the youth these days. It isn't just that kids don't care because of the high level of automation and reliability in modern cars, there's also a distinct dislike of any "dirty" work. Whenever I tell someone that I like cars, they near always assume I am or want to be a mechanic, and when I tell them that I like driving, I get a questioning look and proceed to feel depressed about the state of our young adults. Those studies about teens liking tech more than cars? I'm inclined to agree. At least they have someone to call when things go wrong.
