I remember seeing a similar-type vehicle in Denver, with a FIAT X1/9 perched atop a 4×4 chassis. It looked like a stepladder would be needed to get aboard. It actually was being driven in traffic.

If that’s an affront to your sensibilities, I’ve seen two (not one, but two) 60s/70s Benzes that have received the same treatment.

One was an early 60s 220SE.

You’ll never go broke underestimating the taste of the American public.

Hope it’s for off-road use only.

If it IS legal to go on a public road in the state it is registered within I would not insure it if i was an insurance agent.

Imagine the lawsuit if the driver rear-ends a vehicle and the over-riding front portion of the jacked-up car decapitates folks in the vehicle it hits?

I can pretty well appreciate and enjoy most any car along with their owner, even if it’s not my personal taste. I’m a car guy and have been for over four decades.

I’ve sold collector car insurance in the past and have had conversations with guys with all types of vehicles, down to and including hearses (many of these guys are ‘body men’ in two senses of the word – one of them even told me that); ‘ricers’; Model T’s and A’s; Tuckers – and everything in between.

Some things I don’t personally like (this green monster being one of them). Another category of car that I kind of dislike are the extreme super long stretch limos. Assinine looking.

The ultimate American car! Stonking V8, impractical, live rear axle, 4×4 capability, does the quarter mile fast, can’t go round corners.

GM will deliver it. Their market research department probably came up with this answer last month with fuel now < $2/gallon.

I’ve seen a fourth-gen Camaro with that kind of 4X4 setup, and yes, I said “good lord” when I laid my eyes on it, too.
