My friends, this is nothing. You can go to Hong Kong and buy a Bentley Continental, with all the extras, used one year, for USD 18.000

CNN had a report from a luxury car reseller who had a parking garage full of automotive excellence waiting for excellent cash - and he wasn’t offering firesale prices, these were earthquake quotes.

Rolls Royce, dozens of Astons, Bentleys — and cheap.

I speak chinese. Let me know where this nice gentleman lives.

New for $22K! LOL. The reason for Hummer hate given by owners is often people are jealous because they cannot afford one. It was always a bogus argument, but now it's just funny.

By the time Hummers are collectors items, gas will cost $30/gallon, everyone will be driving small electric cars made of carbon fiber, and vehicles the size of Hummers won't be legal to drive without a commercial driver license. Even then the only Hummer worth collecting will be an H1.

RedStapler: "I’ll bet the wannabe H2 and H3s will actually have collectors appeal a 10-20 years down the line.

Just as the 20ft long tail fin V8 Caddys captured the zeitgeist of the 50s they were all about the ez-credit go-go mid 2000s."
More like collecting leftover 1964 Studebakers, which don't seem to have anywhere near the caché of the Caddy, even the avante garde Avanti.

Ironically, during the brief height of Hummer popularity, GM was considering creating another spin-off Hummer brand. At the time, since the H2 still being built by AM General near South Bend, Studebaker was actually a name being tossed around for the new marque.

Sounds suspiciously like the $50 Rolexes they sell in Hong Kong, too.

It does, doesn't it? But the poor man had luxury cars up his shiatsu, and just had to get rid of inventory. Totally legit.
Looked like a car collector's paradise.

$50 is way too much. I got 2 for $26 on my honeymoon a few years ago. They both still work and look real enough from a few feet away.

Even brand new for $22,000 I'd still rather have a Chevy Colorado crew cab for $23K. Less weight, better fuel economy, and available with a four-banger getting 20 mpg.

Although the Red Tag sale price of the H3 5-cylinder is floating around $26,000, there’s still a sub-basement.

When I took my Saab in for a recall at our local Saab/Saturn/Hummer dealer, the Hummer and Saab sections were truly sad. Mind you, the Saab section is always sad--no one sane buys a new Saab anymore--but the Hummer section was even more pathetic. The reps weren't even trying to see customers who strolled through the salesrooms, and they didn't have a single H2, just a few H3s with toe tags.

The reps themselves were beaten men, you could tell.

The Saturn section was hopping by comparison. I think they sold four Astras in the time my Saab was getting it's gas tank removed. 0% for 72 months might have had something to do with it.

Otherwise they suck on every level. Off road their weight and IFS handicap them. Heck you could take a regular cab Colorado 4WD, add a lift kit, better tires etc and run circles around a H3 off-road.

You can find a similar lofty valuations on late model Canyoneros from Craigslist in Anytown USA. "Dune-Krusher Rubicon Alpha" yours for only $40k or assume payments of $500/month".

I'm not sure the H3 ever came with a v8 (wel at least from the factory). All you could get was the same inline 5 from the Colorado - of which the H3 also shares the same chassis.
