That's right, folks. While Robert is off this week (and by off, we mean inflating his tires and changing his light bulbs from incandescent to fluorescent), the inmates have control of the asylum. And so far, it has been a valuable learning experience for this writer, at least. New skills include: swearing when the site goes down, as it did for at least an hour earlier today, learning to record podcasts on my computer (we're digital, baby), and hawkishly, Farragously monitoring the comments section. It's just a glimpse into how much work the site actually takes to run - and the burden has been mostly shouldered by superstar Frank Williams, filling out his final week with TTAC. Most of all what I realized though is that it's you people, the readers and commenters that really make the site great. Meanwhile, Jonny and I get into some serious car talk.

So, where’s my beer? And where’s the party going on?
We are cheap, but not *that* cheap. An occasional beer wouldn’t be too much to ask for I hope?

Ah, shouldn’t that read “While the Cat’s away.”?

Justin, you sound totally different on the other side of the phone call. Farago would tell you to speak louder though! Good job otherwise.

@Austin Greene:
Erm, yes.
@npbheights:

Before I comment on the absence of our fearless leader…
1) Does anybody have the same trouble logging in or replying while using AOL as I have?
I am constantly getting errors telling me the address is wrong…when it’s only a reply to!!!!
Damn AOL.
Now to Frank, Justin, Robert and all the TTAC people…
I spent some time today showing many people I know just why it is I feel part of a special, elite group of car passionate devotees.
I copied and emailed many of the fabulous reviews from the past to show others what REAL writing is.
How else do I explain this sight to anyone?
It’s sort of like some old politician once said about pornography…I know it when I see it.
The same with great writing…
I remember drinking at a bar one night when two traveling salesman got into a Joke Throw Down.
The jokes flew like fists at an Ali/Frazer fight…Thrillar in Manillar!
All I could do was roar with laughter and admire the skills of these two astonishing and gifted people.
THAT’S EXACTLY how I feel about the writers at TRAC.
I truly marvel at the historical and current references. How do you do this!
I know the common folk readers like me feel the same.
That’s why we are drawn to this sight constantly throughout the day.
Frank, if you are leaving really, really…you will be missed.
Thanks TTAC

This is a great conversation! I like your voice on this podcast, mr. Berkowitz. You sound 10 years younger!

Justin –
I don’t know why Frank is leaving or where he’s going, but he’s left you some pretty big shoes to fill.
And reading you here since the start leaves me no doubt you’ll fill them up just fine.
Cheers!

I mean this in a good way.

AOL is still around. I thought they went out of business when I stopped getting their CD’s in the mail every week. The sites been doing flakey things that last week so it might not be AOL but it probably is.
Interesting podcast, I had a hard time telling who was who until about 4 minutes in, Justin how do you change your voice like that. Robert isn’t that far away from the site since he is still responding to emails.

I have have had dns flakiness from various sites since the DNS poisoning attacks were announced not too long ago.

You don’t know how true that is.
