Yes. they have new family of V6 engines coming out that also be used by Mercedes (don’t look for the Germans to admit it though). Remember the tri-headed dog only owns 80% the other 20 is owned by Dr Z (aka Mr. Hyde).

They also have a new DSG tranny they are working on with a partner (Gertrag?) to be built in a new factory here in the US of A. They are also building a new Axel plant for RWD applications. Cars – new Minivans are out, the new Ram is coming – and will have coil springs instead of leaf springs in the light duty model to give it a better ride than the competition, the new Journey CUV is coming (doesn’t impress me but you never know), and of course the Challenger in a few months (which does impress a lot of people).

With all the “turn arounds” on hand for Chrysler I’d say they are on year 28 of their 30 year turnaround.

Priceless, I’m still giggling and I can’t stop. Also because the guy right across from me in our office just bought a brand new Caliber on Tuesday. I don’t know weather to tell him the ‘Lifetime Warranty’ is a scam. He’s such a nice guy I hate to crush him like that.

Let’s see, they are not going spend much money, shrink the company and still offer a revamped product line up. It all adds up….

In 2010, it will be products that determine who is profitable and who isn’t.

Oh, I see, that’s what Ford was doing wrong. They should have lost money the first year, broken even in year 2 and then made money in the third. Man, that was easy! Who said having an actual plan was difficult?

I think they just might have enough ego’s involved to do something bold with the company. The ‘09 Ram should be a good indicator.

Yeah – they lose money this year, next year they break even by selling off some of Chrysler, then they rake in the money the following year by selling the rest of Chrysler to the Chinese.

I dont think its in the “cards” for Chrysler-Cebrus to win, in two years they will most likely be gone the way of others, remember “American Motors”

Actually, I’m supporting Chrysler to win. However, they need to get rid of the Sebring, Crossfire and cut one of their Voyager vans to have a decent line up. Also, they need to bring back the Neon but re-engineered to be better and more reliable.

Chrysler are too specialised and need to have more mass market appeal (i.e Vanilla cars) to keep their status as a mass car producer.

But unfortunately, Chrysler are going to have to go through some torturous times before things will improve.

They (Chryslerberus) plan to redo or replace the dog in the picture by 2010?!

Actually, calling the Sebring that is an insult to dogs. Truly.

My Newfoundland is far prettier, more reliable, more useful and pound for pound probably more “fuel efficient” than any Sebring. Not to mention the fact that Newfies generally live (only) 10 years – so probably will outlive any new Sebring.

When I take her for walks, all the ladies want to stop (alas, to pet my dog), no matter whether my wife is also with me or not.

Wish I’d known how much women liked Newfies 35 years ago when I was a teenager…. heh heh.
