picture-removed.jpgWe've seen video of Acura's forthcoming NSX testing on the Nurburgring. It looked like little more than a chopped-up, hopped-up Honda S2000.  Possibly because the test mule was clad in ill-fitting S2000 panels. In any case, KGP photography has caught a camouflaged NSX testing on the road. The NSX's proportions have come to resemble Acura's Advanced Sports Car Concept; there's no question that it's far more GT coupe than the previous mid-engined model. Rumors that the new Acura will offer 2+2 seating now look unlikely. Not that manufacturers are above calling even the tiniest areas "+2 seating." With over 500hp coming from the front-midships V10, we know the thing has some go. If you ignore the too-tight S2000 clothes in the Nurburgring video, you'll see (and hear) the NSX tearing some serious ass. If Top Gear doesn't do a three-way test of this NSX, the Lexus LF-A and the Nissan GTR on Nurburgring, we're seriously going to stop watching… for free, on the internet. Seriously.

The visible parts remind me of a compacted, squashed 300ZX (Z32) – not in a bad way.

The NSX name should be reserved for Honda’s next lightweight high-end sports car. Their GT can be called something else.

Why are even supercars so tall and squat-looking these days?

They should call this an NSX because people remember that it would evoke an instant positive reaction from people just learning of its debut.
Honda should build this and then make it affordable (please please please) because the way that car was tearing up the track instantly got my attention.
Would it’s platform be used in anything else? Is Honda ever planning to build a V8?

    Blister,
The latest rumour is that the next gen RL will be V8 powered, and possibly RWD.

Looks like the Hyundai Genesis is making a lot of people nervous.

    Hey, look a new CRX!

I’m not a rabid fan, so it doesn’t really matter to me in the end…but, shouldn’t the NSX look somewhat more distinctive?

The previous NSX was mostly a project to reward favored engineers inside the company. Perhaps the brief for the next one is to sell the car in much larger numbers.

Near where I work there’s a red NSX. Even now, how many years later, it still looks the business. Perhaps not as classically beautiful as a Ferrari –its proportions are a bit off– but you can’t mistake it for anything else. This new NSX, though the design details are obviously unknown, looks rather more generic, as though it could have come from Infiniti as well as Acura.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Matter of fact, I saw the Lexus LF-A side profile when I first saw the pics.

Acura should’ve stuck with a mid-engined design. Besides, the Sports Car Concept was a horrible looking piece.

I saw the photo before it was removed. Do I owe anything?
