I’m with you on this one, puppyknuckles. When I heard Maximum Bob utter this line I threw up in my mouth a little. The height of delusion here.
My wife just walked by and watched part of it over my shoulder. Not particularly a car person, she nonetheless said, “What is this? The ‘If you say it often enough people will begin to believe it’ theory?”

Awesome. He doesn’t know how to pronounce “Camaro”, and I think he mentioned “compelling design” about 3000 times. Then he mentioned the non-existent Volt, and talked about how it’s so aerodynamic. Bob needs to stop sniffing so much glue.
I think that he makes one good point (accidentally or not) … GM MUST make compelling, “gotta drive it” designs if they have a hope in heck of getting consumers to have another look at their products.
So-so design combined with the baggage that comes with GM products (perception gap or not) will not win back consumers. Compelling design might.

It’s actually many layers of glass stacked sideways. Video quality isn’t that great but it looks pretty neat in person.
Robert you have categories for mush lesser news categories. End the needless diaspora of Lutz-related content and give Lutz his own category already.
People tend to stay away from ugly cars. This is true. But believing that cars produced with “compelling design” will sell only because of styling is childish, at best.
Not to say styling can’t be a selling point, but the average car buyer nowadays is also concerned with fuel mileage, reliability, liveability, and so many other variables that an great looking car simply won’t be able to sell based on looks alone.

The Prius maybe ugly and numb(?), but slow it is not. I don’t know where you drive, but where I drive, there is so much traffic I can never drive as fast as I’d like. However, my Prius gets me on the freeway onramp quite quickly (past all the other fancier speedy cars who are waiting in line) in the carpool lane!
