  The Corvette is like an American institution? It’s a car, forgodsake. The Marines are an American institution. The Supreme Court. The Yankees. The New York Times (yes, the New York Times).

  I could go on, but way more people would notice that Howard Stern had disappeared than if the Corvette did. Gearheads all seem to think that the rest of the world actually gives a scheiss whether a car has eight cyinders in a vee or two in a circle. They don’t.

  From my experience, the Yankees are more or less universally hated outside of New York.

  I have only the hope that TTAC posters will show some restraint on the topic. If I read one “OMGLoLz, Toy-yota will Vanilla teh Vette!” I’ll crack.
