BMW hoods used to have a safety latch system that would prevent that. The hinges were back @ the firewall, but the hood itself sprung forward out of the safety latches before it tilted up. Do they still do that?

Thanks but for cars I drive that fast I prefer a reverse opening hood thanks... If the latch on that car failed....

Incredible sounds... Fits right up there with the flat-six sounds.

Syn-Ack : The "limit" light might be the feature where you set a speed warning so it dings at you when you go past a certain speed. Many european and japanese cars have this feature.

As far as the lights,
The yellow thing is "TCS OFF"
The car with the hood up is "malfunction
and in the very last frame, water temperature nearing limits.

None of that means much, since I've driven by numerous BMWs (usually 7-series) where every light on the gauge cluster is lit due to some sort of malfunction.

Love all the flashing lights!

We had a Maserati Merak once. It had a big amber light in the center of the cluster that said "STOP!"

I got it to light up once. But, funny, it didn't light up the night she caught fire at a light while on the way to the mechanic for a tune up.

I only noticed the ESP-off light, brights (probably knocked the stalk as was the left turn signal).

The hood-open indicator and flashing gear indicator both mean the same thing: the hood sensor thinks the hood is not completely latched. I'm sure there was some air getting underneat that hood and triggering the sensor.

No idea what the "light" with a circle around it meant.

I know when Alex Roy pegged his limiter removed E39 M5, it started yelling at him about tire damage and then he lost power. Restarted the engine (Going 300kph I heard) and the system came back up but it was reset to German and yelled at him in that language for the rest of his race.

Oh those quirky german cars!

I know. What was that all about? Insanely fast nevertheless. I was also amazed at the low road and wind noise.

How fast was that X5 going?

Would someone familiar with BMWs tell me why the 7th gear indicator is blinking and all of those warning lights are flashing across the middle of the gauges? Check engine, international symbol for no, and over-temp - is that right?

Is it gonna explode?
