Questionable marketing notwithstanding, it’s an interesting looking car (and I don’t mean that in a bad way). If it has the driving dynamics to back it up, it could make for a nice little commuter.

yea i guess u can say iam in the target market that kia is aiming for wit this. iam 20. yea its sorta appealing. but to me they r trying to hard to b hip or watever. the styling is a lil quirky 2. and this wont have i guess u can say the brand recognition or the street cred wit would b tuners. to say to a friend or watever ” i got this hot new kia” jus doenst sound right to me

People buy Kias because they don’t feel like paying more, not because it’s a “lifestyle” statement.

Making an economy car ugly doesn’t give it genuine personality. But I’m sure some people might will buying this Soul will make them “cool.”

Just like Scion, Kia is trying to make their car hip and young. Get ready for laughs when the average buyer is in their 40s and looking for a small, economical daily driver. Then laugh harder when Kia listens to these people and the next generation is a porky, thirsty near-minivan.

Shame the slushbox only has four speeds, especially since the concept Soul had five. I eagerly await a test drive of the vehicle in the U.S. (Edmunds tested one in Korea not too long ago), as well as a good look at its interior packaging. I would have preferred a traditional hatch/wagon version of the new Forte instead of this, but it does look promising nonetheless. And when are we going to be done with this side vent nonsense?
