Rockabilly's in my blood and somewhere the late, great Charlie Ryan is smiling down on us. Man, they won't know what hit them, 'cause that Lincoln body makes it "look like a pup." Its true, after scoring a wrecked 1995 Mustang GT in the junkyard. And why not? This pacified Pony Car had the perfect upgrade for a Hot Rod Lincoln eager to stomp on a certain Audi 4000 run by Captain Mike Solowiow: a Tremec T-5 transmission. And yes Mr. Lieberman, its true! V8 Volvos shake in fear, as Dearborn's finest offers a Fox body slushbox conversion sans the (LeMons crippling) cost of a new driveshaft. The price of such pleasure? All of $65 at Pick-A-Part's half price sale, including a decent flywheel, clutch and cables. And it's precisely why you'll rarely see me shoe shopping, but I'm always down for a boneyard run.

Sajeev, I like how you’re the first to comment on your own article. Classic.

The V8olvo shakes for no one.

NetGenHoon: the cubicle comes in handy, at times.
JL: since we’re running the same basic motor (’cept mines better because its SEFI) that comes as no surprise.

You guys need to write full articles updating your progress on each car. At least give us a rundown of where you started and what you ended up with prior to the start of the 24 hours of LeMons. Follow that up with full articles describing what happened during the race for a perfect ending.

Yup, SEFI beats a glorified toilet sucking air in anyday. Is the motor in the V8olvo a late model roller cam unit? Cuz the one in the Mark VII surely is!

Lumbergh21: that might make a good weekend article, I’ll work on it.

Me, too.
And brothers Mehta — the Black Metal V8olvo laughs at your puny Lincoln

Weight of ‘86 Lincoln Mark VII: 3,700 pounds. Weight of ‘84 Volvo DL: 2,900 pounds. Those extra roller-cam horses will be squandered! Squandered! Not only that, the V8olvo sports a hood scoop and a wing! You’re just lucky we’ll be on different tracks, pal!

And, the question of the day:
Where did the term “Fox” chassis used by Ford come from?
