For Audi fans, Treser was THE modifier in the 1980's and 1990's. The firm created a very quick (and sought after) Audi 5000 Turbo (Audi 200 in Europe), a Quattro convertible (capital Q), and many others. I happened to stumble upon one of Treser's last creations, a slightly used Audi 200 Turbo quattro. While the engine, interior, and body panels were rotted, the carbon fiber hood and trunk-lid were not. Mr. Mehta and Mr. Lieberman, you can no longer call my Audi V8 quattro "fat." Like me, we are both turning into lean, mean muscled machines that will obliterate all Lincolns/Volvos in our path. Quattro uber alles!

By the way: Before Walter Treser opened up his own company he was an engineer at Audi, leading a project called “quattro”, He was the one to suggest the name.
Walter Treser is alive and kicking btw he went to Opel in ‘91 and was responsible for the AWD DTM Calibra. In ‘96 he became Director of Advanced Engineering.

And when there is a moist/wet surface.
On a dry surface, RWD is way faster of the line, the AWD just slows you down then…
And Yep, it is spelled Treser (see amended text)… always keeping us honest!
And the quattro systems are dead-on reliable, as long as they haven't been sitting for a long time (see my project 4000 quattro for LeMons). And as an experienced racer, I want the quattro system for when the track begins to get slick from the constant "running of the beaters". When I race high speed touring, the track gets slick after only a few hours, so consider 24!
And I'm fully aware of the shatter prone nature of carbon fibre, I think I still have carbon shrapnel in my leg from my triathlon bike when it met the unfortunate end of a Ford Taurus bumper…

Having your front wheels powered is about the worst idea in LeMons racing there is.
Just out of curiosity what is the average speed that LeMons cars hit on the straight? 16 mph? Does FWD matter?

FWD only matters in so much as most cars get hit in the front wheels.

So, on that track, the easy to maneuver FWD cars are the fastest, but they are also the first to die.
Like, you can’t just swap out the front end.
