Volkswagen's Small Crossovers - Not New Golf - Are Probably Headed to Geneva

Volkswagen may bring to Geneva two new small crossovers to complement its aging crossover lineup —including a production version of the T-ROC Concept it showed off in Geneva two years ago — Autocar reported ( via Car and Driver).

The T-ROC and reported T-Cross would both be MQB-based crossovers. The T-ROC is Golf-sized and much more probable for North American audiences than the Polo-sized T-Cross.

That’s in line with what we’ve heard, but don’t bet on a refreshed Golf to bow in Geneva in March — we’re hearing Paris in October for that particular reveal.

The stakes are incredibly high for Volkswagen and its crossovers, including the new Tiguan that will be coming later this year. The automaker’s (diesel) cars may be sinking the company at the moment, but it’s clear that its crossovers are the biggest lifesaver to keep it afloat.

We know that the next-generation Tiguan will grow longer and wider, which could make room for a Golf-sized T-ROC at the small end and Volkswagen’s announced three-row crossover at the big end.

CUV in German translates to "Contamination Uber Voluminous"

TTAC should review car commercials. No really... Did anyone else pay note to the one during the football game Sunday where some of Honda's coolest cars, the CRX, Del Sol, S2000... kept morphing and then wound up as a damned CUV? While the announcer was talking about Honda's "sporty DNA" or something like that? I groaned and cussed out loud when I saw that.

Did they really name it after the drug dealer on 'Trailer Park Boys'?

Here in SC, we're hoping it will be named after the Southern Charmed star (and convicted felon) T-Rav.
