Engine noise and handling is all my beat up old T-Bird has going for it...it's not fast, and it clearly doesn't look cool because nobody ever tells me so.
Direct injection is good for performance, but it sounds awful. In the Accord, Honda uses the opposite of fake noise--active noise cancellation. I'm fine with fake noise for those who want it, as long as there is a way for the rest of us to turn it OFF. If Cadillac must ape the Germans, ape them properly: have one character that indicates the body style, and another that indicates the engine. Honestly, what does CT6 tell you about the product? It could be a subcompact hatchback. Or a blender, for that matter. Can't Cadillac use names that are part of their heritage? The Toyota Mirai looks fine. What's that? You don't like vampires? Oh, okay. In that case it looks horrible.
Is your car faking it?
That's the most frightening photo of a Mirai I've seen. Fake noise - well, the fake noise of the BMW i8 sounds tremendous: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7G8mVOUUAQ"
