Keep looking for an auto auction and maybe you can find Steve Lang, who thinks Newt Gingrich had something to do with the construction of the East/West Connector/Barrett Parkway.
Kennesaw is a very nice place. I would really like some of you sharp-eyed reviewers to describe to us the impact of the automobile on a place as safe and normal as Kennesaw. Why is this place so darn typical? This that a good thing? Make it interesting. There are stories to tell from places like that. Tell us why auto manufacturers are finding these Southern communities so attractive. It isn't just about costs, is it? Have a fun time guys! The weather should be very pleasant!
so....when do we get a "tour of SE Michigan" in the near future? You could spend 3 weeks in the Detroit area and not touch everything related to the automotive industry.
I grew up about 15 minutes north of Kennesaw and I still live less than 45 minutes away. It was a sleepy little town that experienced explosive growth over the last 20+ years. Now it's known for it's traffic congestion, with a 5-mile drive across town taking 30-40 minutes at peak times! Kennesaw earned worldwide media attention back in 1982, when they passed a law requiring every head of household to own a firearm AND ammunition! They revised it a year later to exempt conscientious objectors, felons, mentally-ill persons and paupers (poor) from the requirement. But the law is still on the books to this day!
