When I started writing for TTAC, I could never have imagined the wild ride I was in for. Luckily I’ve been able to draw on wisdom and support of a number of TTAC’s contributors, not the least of whom was my dad, Paul Niedermeyer. He first suggested that I start blogging for TTAC, and his seemingly infinite knowledge of all things automotive has been a constant resource for me. Now, I’m pleased to announce that he will be stepping up to be my Managing Editor. In addition to his twice-weekly Curbside Classic series (and who knows, maybe a few more Auto-Biographies), Paul will be developing new content, blogging stories in his formidable areas of expertise, and filling in for me when my work pulls me away from the keyboard. I can’t imagine a better person for the job, and together we hope to bring TTAC to new heights.

It’s hard to beat a good father and son team…or in this case, a son and father team.
Congratulations to both of you for being able to work together so well. This is more rare than you might imagine.
The key is that I work for him; we tried it the other way around, and that didn’t work so well!
You know what that means, Paul, don’t you? With Farago gone, You have become the TTAC spirit in residence. Your soul will embody this place. And that’s good. Besides RF, nobody does it better than you. I’m sure father and son will manage this place…

I like that wild copper color too. But I’ve always gone for white in most of my cars.
Congratulations! It would be tough to put TTAC in better hands, I think. I am a big fan of both Niedermeyers’ writing here.

Congrats! You two will do fine. Hey – since we’re all celebrating, do you think you might find to change that Gawd-awful logo? I didn’t get a chance to get more details from you in the other thread, so can you dedicate a new one to exactly how that process went, and whether anyone has heard our cries of anguish?
The new logo was done in-house by VerticalScope prior to our leadership transition. We are looking into alternate designs, and VS has been supportive of our efforts. In the meantime, we hope the new window dressing doesn’t take away too much from TTAC’s tradition strength: its content.
The cries have been heard; all around. No need to rehash how it happened; better we put our energy on fixing the fixable. I’m 100% committed to that cause.
