I don’t get it. What am I missing? It’s a Lorinser Mercedes. Is the thing in the middle of the grill red? Is it for sale only in the UK? Is this another of Farago’s jokes intended to demonstrate how out of touch septuagenarian car writers are?
HEY! Maybe the good old USA can have a “Red Nose” day too!
Everybody that owns an E85 capable car can go find an E85 pump and fill-er-up. The participating station will give you a big foam adhesive red “nose” for your car to signify that the ECM is now “drunk” on ethanol (don’t worry, a few tanks of E10 will sober your vehicle up).
This new “Red Ball” will be courtesy of ADM (instead of Atlantic Richfield).
EChid - I partially agree with both of you, golden and Secret. The last gen didn’t use bad materials, it just seemed that nissan tried REALLY hard to make it look as cheap...
Jethrine - With scrap metal prices as they are, how is that still there? Oh, someone might buy the cylinder head for $200? Don’t think so. That is dead inventory...
Ryoku75 - Its funny how through out the Omni Horizons life span nothing really changed, other than the options list got much smaller. There was just one face lift...
Athos Nobile - Thing looked good until I saw the front end. I saw the front end of the 508 and did´t like it. It is amazing how the Etios resembles the original...
For those who don’t know what “Red Nose Day” is:
Rose Nose Day is for Comic Relief, a fund raising effort: http://www.comicrelief.com/
What they do in the UK is glue a little foam red bulb on the nose of your car. The idea being that it is clown nose.
It baffled me the first time I went over there. I’m sure it will come Stateside some time in the future.

That car is ready for a red nose.

Pfuiiiiiiit!
Over my head.
This is the ugliest car I have ever seen. Worse than an Aztek or the European 1996 Ford Scorpio. Hope that nobody in my hown town ever buys this…
